Lake Taupo, fringed by rolling hills, endless forests and wilderness, is located in the centre of the New Zealand’s North Island. It is a majestic, imposing pristine lake, and inland ocean, as large as the island of Singapore.
Here you can enjoy fly fishing in the worlds’ best trout fishing streams, water-skiing, sailing, boating and all manner of watersports. There is also horse trekking and walks through the forests where the abundance of native bird life is truly awe inspiring. Easily accessible by road are the ski-fields of the North Island and there are dozens of fishable streams a short boat trip across Lake Taupo.
The Taupo district is strategically located between New Zealand’s two largest cities Auckland and Wellington. From Auckland International Airport to Taupo it is 40 minutes by scheduled commuter flights and from there just twenty minutes to Kinloch.
